From the Shelter to Your Sofa: Why I’m Launching Caring About Paws
Hello, fellow pet parents!
If you’ve ever looked at your dog or cat and wondered, “Why on earth are you doing that?”—you’re in the right place.
I am thrilled to finally announce the launch of Caring About Paws, a dedicated behaviour and training service for the four-legged members of your family. Whether you are dealing with a cat who thinks the curtains are a climbing frame or a dog who treats every walk like a cross-country marathon, I’m here to help.
The Journey Here
My path to professional behaviour consulting wasn't just built in a classroom; it was built in the trenches. Having spent years working in rescue centres, boarding kennels, and catteries, I’ve seen it all. I have worked with the shyest wallflowers, the most exuberant "problem" pups, and everything in between.
To back up that hands-on experience, I am currently putting the finishing touches on my Degree in Canine and Feline Behaviour and Welfare. This means my methods aren't just based on "hunches"—they are rooted in modern science, animal psychology, and a deep-seated respect for animal welfare.
My Heart is in Rescue
While I work with pets from all walks of life, my specialty lies in rescue rehabilitation.
Rescue pets bring a unique kind of magic into a home, but they often carry "invisible luggage." Helping a nervous rescue dog find their confidence or helping a displaced cat feel safe in a new environment is what drives me. If you’ve just adopted and feel overwhelmed, I promise—it gets better, and I can show you how.
How Can I Help You?
I don’t believe in "one size fits all" training. Every pet is an individual, and every home has different needs. I’m available to tackle a wide range of behavioral questions, including:
The Basics: Puppy and kitten foundations.
The Big Stuff: Separation anxiety, reactivity, and fear-based behaviors.
The "Odd" Stuff: Litter box issues, excessive barking, or multi-pet household tension.
The Transition: Preparing your pet for a new baby, a big move, or a new furry sibling.
Let’s Get Started!
I believe that training should be a conversation between you and your pet, not a battle of wills. I can’t wait to meet you and your animals and help you build the relationship you’ve always wanted.
